I. Clinical Data Acquisition: Optical Reconstruction via Intraoral Scanning
All high-precision digital restorations originate from precise data source acquisition. Clinicians no longer require uncomfortable physical impression materials. Instead, a compact intraoral scanner (IOS) is utilized. The device captures anatomical topology at thousands of frames per second using structured light or confocal microscopy. The physical structures within the oral cavity are instantaneously transformed into a dense point cloud consisting of millions of polygons, capturing margins and dynamic occlusion with unprecedented accuracy.
